1.Tangkahan
Tangkahan is the most interesting that you have try in north sumatera.You can trekking into the jungle and make some activity like wash elephant,feeding,Tubing in river and etc.it need 4 hours drive from the main city of medan.
2.Bukit lawang
Bukit lawang is special for trekking to see orang utan.you can trekking into the gunung leuser about 1,5 hours or make some extra longer 3-5 hours trekking into the jungle to see orang utan.there are almost 7.000 orang utan live in gunung leuser(leuser mountain)
3.Berastagi
at berastagi there are some places that you can trekking like volcanoes or other.most of the tourist always visit Sibayak volcano location at Berastagi about 2 hours from medan city.if you need to visit berastagi from bukit lawang you have to return back to medan and drive Berastagi.Berastagi is highland in North sumatera.the air is fresh and cool.Sibayak volcano is one of intresting volcano that is save to trekking.sibayak vlcano 2.175 meter above sea level you can drive to the feed of volcano and continue for trekking about 2,5 hours.
other adventure you can visit many intresting places in Berastagi such as Lumbini temple,fruite market,gundaling hill,waterfall
For relax and enjoy the main tourism of North sumatera you have to visit Lake toba.Lake toba is the first destination in North sumatera.you can continue your trip from Berastagi or drive from medan.lake toba is the largest lake in southest asia cover area 2.707 km square.83 km long,24 km wide and 450 meters deep.there is a big island in the midle of lake toba the name is samosir island.
